The astrology in March is full of powerful shifts and changes, and will likely have us solidifying our plans to leave behind those things that are no longer serving us. We can now move forward, feeling all the lighter for those things that we have shed. Now is a time for us to look forward, and envision the life we want, and the steps we can start taking to get there. We may feel as though our path is finally being revealed to us. Will we have the courage to walk down it? Even when looking forward, the present becomes past in the blink of an eye, so taking time to ground ourselves in the present moment will be essential in avoiding the fear that keeps us from proceeding forward. Baby steps seem tedious, but when we look back we tend to find we've come farther that we thought, by simply putting one foot in front of the other.
Just a few of the celestial influences that may affect us this month are as follows:
March 7th- Full Moon in Virgo- Saturn enters Pices:
The full moon in practical Virgo is a good time to work on projects, and to be around others, as Virgos' traits of kindness and creativity, along with it's sensibility, will aid us in almost any endeavor we choose. There is a loving, healing light to this moon as well. It is a good time to do soul work. It is important for us to be in tune with our own needs at this time. Listening to what our bodies and minds are needing, and giving that to ourselves, is the best way to get the healing we seek. Self care is paramount to our own healing.
The energy boosting power of the full moon will also have an effect on the powerful movement of Saturn into Pices. Saturn, the planet of karma and master teacher, has been in the sign of Aquarius since December of 2020. Saturn stays in each sign for 3 years, (It won't exit Pices until Feb 14, 2026) and as it moves into another sign, it is said there is a gift of karmic reward. The first week in March, be on the lookout for gifts of good karma coming back to you regarding the work that you have been doing since December of 2020. Serious and grounding Saturn entering the easy going dreamer sign Pices, may give more tangibility to our dreams, helping us to make them a reality. Thinking of the bigger picture, and what we can do to serve humanity, is a good way to start if we are still figuring out which dreams to pursue, as Pices is a humanitarian. This powerful astrological boost may be just what we need to finish that project, or start our own business!
March 20th- Sun in Aries- Equinox- Beginning of Astrological New Year:
As our sun dances into the firey sign of Aries, we will have more energy and drive to do what we know needs to be done, so that we can do some leveling up. Again, self care needs to be a theme here, so we have the health and energy we need to move forward. This fire can burn us out, so balance with rest, and healing holistic activities, such as yoga or sound healing.
The March Equinox- also called the Vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere- marks the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere, and the beginning of autumn in the southern hemisphere. Equinox marks the sun's crossing above the earth's equator from south to north. Night and day are equal in length, and seasonal changes are happening both in mother nature, and within ourselves. We can tune in through meditation, or go for a walk into nature, and just listen. Listening to ourselves and listening to nature is important. What do they have to tell us, and how can we apply that to our modern lives? These are good questions to ask ourselves.
It is the Astrological New Year. Aries is the first sign, the baby of the zodiac. This is yet another indication that it's time for new beginnings. Aries is playful, energetic, and passionate about learning. Now is a terrific time to nurture our inner child.
Journal prompt: What is something from my childhood that I wish I had more of in my life today? What does our inner child say to us, and what do we need to say to that inner child? If we choose to bring parts of our past into the present and future with us, why not bring that childlike wonder and awe?
March 21st- New Moon In Aries:
This new moon is directly following equinox and the astrological new year. The "New Beginnings" theme continues here. New moon is a time to set intentions, and plan steps for moving forward. Today is a great time to physically write down what your goals and intentions are, and how you can manifest them into reality. The determination and courage of Aries can be your guide, and the passion and High energy can help you to achieve your highest aspirations! Reach for the stars friends! You just might get what you wish for!
March 23- Pluto in Aquarius:
Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008. Because it is so far away from our sun, Pluto stays in a house for a longer duration of time than other planets, so it's moves are big, because they are so rare. Because of it's retrograde motion, Pluto is only dipping it's toes into Aquarius for now. It will move back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius until it moves more permanently into the sign, on November 19, 2024, until March of 2043. This is Pluto's first trip into the sign of Aquarius in over 200 years! It will be interesting to see what these new energies will feel like to us.
Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth, and of the underworld. It is a nurturer of new beginnings and ways of thinking, and helps us to leave the past behind us, after it teaches what lessons need to be learned from it, good and bad. With this short trip into Aquarius we will get a taste of this new combination of energies that will be coming in at the end of this year, and staying for a very long time. Pluto in Aquarius is likely to bring into focus our community and technology, as Aquarius is a very forward thinker, and community is very important to this sign.
In March we have had some big moves from our planets, that will likely affect our moods and decisions. It is good to know what outside influences might be guiding us, so we can plan accordingly. There are also a lot of smaller events, and combining events, that are giving us a real push to end this chapter of our old self, and move forward into the next version. We are being called to level up to higher planes of existence. Will we rise?
